Dr. Aditya Bastola has a Ph.D in Women’s Studies from University of Pune. His research interests are on issues of gender, water, governance, climate change, health and migration. He has strong field experiences across rural communities in South Asia. Prior to joining SaciWATERs he was working with Women in Environment, Nepal. His proficiencies are in implementing and coordinating regional level studies, gender analysis and development of analytical model. He is also associated with several community-based organizations focused on gender rights.


Byjesh Kattarkandi, prior to joining Saciwaters, worked as research consultant at International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT), Hyderabad. He holds masters in agriculture with a specialization in farm and rural environment from Wageningen University, The Netherlands and bachelor in agriculture from Kerala Agricultural University, Kerala. He possess more than seven years of research experience in climate change impacts on crops and rural livelihood, risks and vulnerability and on identifying strategies towards resilience at different levels of its manifestation. He posses field research experience in semi-arid tropics of India and East Africa (Tanzania and Uganda). His research interest includes Q2 (qualitative and quantitative) understanding of issues related to farming and rural livelihood.


Dr. Gangadri has more than 19 years of experience within the areas of women empowerment, water and sanitation, natural resource management, sustainable livelihoods, participatory irrigation management, capacity building, preparation of training modules, process documentation and preparation of timely reports along with specialization in planning, implementation, operations and monitoring within field research. He has completed his PhD. on Water balance, land use, cropping pattern and agricultural development of Chittoor district, Andhra Pradesh, from Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Anantapur.

He has worked with various governmental, non-governmental and private organizations such as Rural Institute for Social Education (RISE), SMEC India Pvt. Ltd, Irrigation and Command Area Development Department (I&CAD), APMAS, Commissioner of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department.


Parepally Sahithi holds a master’s degree in Infrastructure Planning from Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology University, Ahmedabad, Gujarat and a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering from Gurunanak Institute of Technology, Hyderabad. Her master’s thesis was on Sanitation in small cities – A study of Palanpur and Bharuch, Gujarat.

Prior to joining SaciWATERs she has worked with CEPT University, Ahmedabad and Urban Management Center, Ahmedabad. She has worked on water and sanitation sector. Majorly in preparation of standard operating procedure of fecal sludge management and excel based toolkits for rating cities based on cleanliness under Mahatma Gandhi Swachhata Mission for Government of Gujarat.


Mr. Sayulu holds a Masters degree in Sociology from Osmania University. Prior to joining SaciWATERs he was working as a project manager in LEPRA, Hyderabad. He has been working in the field of water supply, sanitation, health, agriculture, child labour and HIV aids for the past twelve years. He has proficiency in handling field related projects. He looks into the water quality project as a field coordinator.


Mr. Sreenivas holds a Masters degree in Social Work. As a part of his Master’s thesis he did a comprehensive study on community development under MGNREGA. He looks into the water quality project as a Community Mobilizer for Navipet Mandal.


Mrs. Swapna holds a Masters degree in Social Work from Telangana University and completed Bachelors in Education. Prior to joining SaciWATERs she worked for not to profit organisations as a counsellor. She has been working in the field of agriculture and rural development for the past two years. She has proficiency in handling field related projects. She looks into the water quality project as a Community Mobilizer for Banswada Mandal.
