The high incidence of mortality and morbidity rate among infants and children is attributed largely to unsafe water supply, poor hygienic practice and insanitary environment. As a part of the project to ensure the safe WASH in urban communities, a series of hygiene orientation sessions were conducted in Anganwadi centres to teach and supervise young children to cultivate and practice personal hygiene and cleanliness by key hygiene messages like Handwashing, Use of Toilets, Handling Water Safely, Food Hygiene.
