About the Project

STUDY SITE

The project compares periurban transformations in three cities of India - Pune, Kolkata, and Hyderabad. Two periurban villages for each city provides as case studies to understand the processes at play.

1. Kolkata - Hadia / Bodai
2. Pune - Uruli Kanchan / Paud
3. Hyderabad - Bowrampet / Anajpur

The three study areas are located in different agro-ecological, hydrological, and water and development policy regimes that allows for comparison of the periurbanisation process and its impacts in different contexts.
