18–19 March 2026 · Kolkata and Sundarbans Young Change Makers for Mangroves: A Workshop That Went Beyond the Classroom Forty-two young voices from across India and the Sundarbans came together not merely to attend a workshop, but to question, reflect, and share what mangroves mean to them. What unfolded was quietly powerful. Hosted by Nature Environment and Wildlife Society (NEWS) in collaboration with the Global Mangrove Alliance (GMA) India Chapter and Axis Bank, the Young Change Makers for Mangroves workshop became a space where creativity met lived experience. The workshop brought together 12 prize-winning youth participants alongside around 30 young minds from the Sundarbans. Distinguished speakers included Shri Kaushick Saha, IAS, Secretary, School Education Department, Government of West Bengal, and Shri Suraj
