Through an interdisciplinary lense

Research

Research under the Crossing Boundaries project is socially driven and impact oriented, and is executed on the backdrop of interdisciplinarity. The problems found in society define the research agenda as well as its objectives and methods. Thus, the knowledge produced is not just for the sake of knowledge, but strives to find application in a real social setting. Tangible impacts are sought out of the research done.

To equip SAWA Fellows to conduct such research, the project has been imparting specially designed courses on subjects such as, Integrated Field Research Methodology and Participatory Research Methodology. These courses have been carefully designed, keeping in mind, the rigours of water management. . We also stimulate SAWA fellows and encourage them to pursue research studies that are local in nature and have immediate relevance. Students are trained to view their studies from an interdisciplinary lens.
